How and when we ship digital products, direct-sale gear, and affiliate items recommended on Overland Gear Guide.
1. Overview
Overland Gear Guide offers a mix of instant digital downloads, affiliate products (primarily via Amazon), and physical items sold directly through our own checkout.
This Shipping Policy explains how delivery works for each type of product. All timeframes below are guidelines only and may vary based on carrier performance, public holidays, and local conditions.
Digital ebooks are delivered instantly. Affiliate products are shipped by Amazon or the relevant retailer. Our own physical products include 1–3 business days for fulfilment, plus region-specific delivery times.
2. Digital Products (Ebooks & Downloads)
Our digital ebooks and downloadable resources are delivered immediately after successful payment.
- Delivery method: Instant download link and/or email with access instructions.
- Shipping cost: None. Digital products do not incur shipping fees.
- Typical timing: Access is available within minutes of payment being confirmed.

3. Affiliate Products (Amazon & Other Retailers)
Many of the physical products shown in our shop, buying guides, and reviews are sold and shipped by Amazon or other third-party retailers. In those cases:
- Your purchase contract and shipping terms are with the retailer, not Overland Gear Guide.
- Shipping costs, delivery times, and available services are set by that retailer.
- Typical Amazon delivery windows are often around 1–3 days, depending on:
- Your country and address
- Membership status (e.g. Amazon Prime)
- Shipping service selected at checkout
Please refer to the shipping and delivery information on Amazon (or the relevant site) at the time of purchase, as this will always be the most accurate and binding information for affiliate orders.
4. Overland Gear Guide Direct-Sale Physical Products
For physical items sold and fulfilled directly by Overland Gear Guide (not Amazon or another retailer), the following guidelines apply.
4.1. Order Processing & Fulfilment
All direct-sale physical orders are subject to a fulfilment (processing) time of 1–3 business days.
- Order confirmation: Sent by email shortly after checkout.
- Fulfilment time: 1–3 business days to pick, pack, and hand over to the carrier.
- Tracking details: A tracking number and link will be emailed once your order has shipped.
4.2. Estimated Delivery Timeframes by Region
United States
- Fulfilment: 1–3 business days
- Delivery: Typically 1–3 business days after dispatch
- Carrier: UPS National next day service or similar fast domestic services (depending on location and order size)
United Kingdom & Europe
- Fulfilment: 1–3 business days
- Delivery: Typically 1–10 business days after dispatch
- Carriers: UPS International, DHL, or similar international services
International (Outside USA, UK & Europe)
- Fulfilment: 1–3 business days
- Delivery: Typically 3–15 business days after dispatch
- Carriers: UPS, DHL, or equivalent international couriers
5. Tracking & Order Status
For all direct-sale physical orders, we provide:
- Shipping confirmation email once your order has left our fulfilment partner.
- Tracking number and link so you can follow your parcel’s progress in real time.
You can track your parcel via:
- The tracking link in your shipping email, and/or
- The carrier’s official tracking portal (e.g. UPS, DHL) using the tracking number provided.
6. Customs, Duties & Import Taxes
For international orders, your shipment may be subject to customs inspections, import duties, VAT, or other taxes imposed by your country’s authorities.
- These charges are not included in our product prices or shipping estimates.
- The recipient is responsible for paying any applicable customs fees, taxes, or brokerage charges.
- Customs processing can delay delivery beyond our guideline timeframes.
7. Delays, Remote Areas & Service Limitations
While we work with reputable carriers like UPS and DHL, some factors are outside our control:
- Severe weather, natural disasters, or local disruptions
- Customs delays or inspections
- Remote or hard-to-reach delivery locations
- Peak seasons (e.g. holiday periods) causing network congestion
In such cases, delivery may take longer than the guideline windows. We’ll always rely on the most recent carrier updates to understand what’s happening with your shipment.
8. Incorrect Addresses & Undeliverable Parcels
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. If you notice a mistake:
- Contact us as soon as possible via our contact page with your order number and corrected address.
- If the order has not yet shipped, we’ll do our best to update the address before dispatch.
- If the order has already shipped, we may be limited to what the carrier can do (e.g. re-routing, holding at a collection point).
If a parcel is returned to us as undeliverable due to an incorrect or incomplete address, we may:
- Offer to re-ship the order (additional shipping charges may apply), or
- Provide a refund for the product cost, excluding original shipping and any return charges imposed by the carrier.
9. Lost or Damaged Shipments (Direct Sales)
If your direct-sale order appears to be lost in transit or arrives damaged:
- Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and tracking number.
- For damage, please include clear photos of:
- The item
- Inner and outer packaging
- Any visible courier damage
We’ll liaise with the carrier and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or follow the process outlined in our Refund & Returns Policy .
